Melinda Sordino from Speak?

I felt bad for her with the whole rape thing, but I always thought she was mean to Heather From Ohio, even though she was the only one who liked her and bothered talking to her. In the movie Melinda ranted to Heather about how she was nice to her even though she didn't like her, but wasn't Heather the one who initiated the friendship? That comment about the "disposable friend" kind of made her sound desperate and unsympathetic.
